In the September 2018 school holidays Tribe Youth Theatre will present their second musical Grease. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2018, Grease’s characters, storyline and particularly its music are as popular today as ever.
- 28 September to 6 October at Girton Grammar School’s Black Box Theatre.
Director Vanessa Bate is looking forward to directing this time-piece.
“These were the days of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis Presley, civil rights, the post war baby boom and Cadillacs, what’s not to love?” she said.
Grease turns 40 years old in 2018 and its characters and music are still just as popular today as they were on its initial release.
Set against a familiar backdrop of high school, with a well known soundtrack of classic rock ‘n’ roll harmonies, the story of Danny Zuko and Sandra Dumbrowski, cars, fashions, music, hobbies, entertainment, their friends and challenges faced by teenagers and a snapshot of a time in history.
Will a summer romance stand the scrutiny of high school peers?
Let TRIBE take you on a nostalgic trip to experience the friendships, romances and adventures of a group of high school kids in their last term of high school in 1959.
Grease is the word!
