MEET THE CAST of Michael Frayn’s ‘Noises Off’:

Abe Watson has been performing ever since he was able to talk (apparently!). At the age of eight (2004), he was convinced to audition for BTC’s upcoming production of ‘Oliver!’; he was cast as the ‘littlest’ orphan, and was even given three lines!

Abe has been continuously involved with BTC since 2004, on stage and off. As well as playing characters such as ‘Chip’ (Beauty & the Beast, 2006), ‘Gavroche’ (Les Misérables, 2008), ‘Judas/John the Baptist’ (Godspell, 2012) and ‘Link’ (Hairspray, 2013), Abe was nominated to the BTC Committee as their first Junior General Committee Member, and currently serves as the Company’s Vice President.

Abe’s other performance credits include ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (BTC, 2005), ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ (BTC, 2007), ‘All Shook Up’ (BTC, 2009), ‘Annie’ (BTC, 2010) as well as Catholic College Bendigo’s ‘Oliver’ in 2011 in which he played ‘Fagin’.
Abe has undertaken performance workshops with The National Theatre Drama School and the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

After developing a keen interest for the ‘back of house’ aspects of theatre, mainly sound and lighting, Abe gained employment at The Capital Theatre in 2010 as a Theatre Technician. Abe has worked as a Theatre Designer, Lighting & Sound Operator, Technical Adviser, Stage Manager, Orchestra Member and Production Manager.

Abe holds a VCE in Music Performance (Contemporary Voice), Drama, French, English Language, Australian Politics and Psychology, completed at Catholic College Bendigo as College Captain in 2014.

Abe has a huge passion for all things artistic and in his ‘down-time’ runs his own business, providing Technical Services and Vocal Tuition.

Abe has immensely enjoyed rehearsals for ‘Noises Off’, and feels lucky and humbled to be able to share the stage with such an incredibly talented and dynamic cast and cannot wait to bring this clever farce to Bendigo audiences.
